2018 Whitney M. Young Jr, Service Award Luncheon
You are cordially invited to support the 2018 Whitney M. Young Jr, Service Award Luncheon on Friday, September 14, 2018. The Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award is a national honor for those “unsung heroes” who provide exceptional service for disadvantaged youth by developing Scouting in challenging urban and rural areas.
Our 2018 Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award Recipients are: John Crossman, CEO of Crossman & Company; Mayor Buddy Dyer, City of Orlando, Ron Oats, Southern Regional Director and Chief Diversity Officer, BSA and Smith Barlatier Raphael, Troop 603 Committee Member
The mission of the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award Luncheon is to celebrate community members making a difference through Scouting and support the Council’s Scout Reach Program. Scout Reach is a program
for at-risk youth that provides experiences that develop self-esteem, character, values and life skills. For over 108 years, the Boy Scouts of America has led the nation in providing citizenship training for American youth.
Scouting has provided youth with character-development programs based on values found in the Scout Oath: Duty to country, Duty to others and Duty to self.
Please join us at noon on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Marriott Orlando Downtown Hotel to help ensure Scouting is an option for our youth during these turbulent times and hear more about our Scouting programs in Central Florida from our Keynote Speaker, Eagle Scout and Board Member Jeff Jennings, President of Jack Jennings & Sons, Inc.
By joining us to celebrate this year’s Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award recipients, your sponsorship support will help make Scouting a reality for our youth throughout the Central Florida Region. Click here to register to attend.
