From the Central Florida Council President

‘Tis the season to welcome our new scouts!  Our whole Council is energized by the remarkable recruiting season that we have had thanks to the hard work of our Pack, District and Council volunteers and Council staff. With more recruitment still in progress, Central Florida Council has already recruited 6,000 new scouts, 1/3 of whom are girls!!

Our next task is to retain these families in scouting by ensuring that units have fully trained leaders, regular camping experiences and are helping the new scouts earn their Bobcat and Scout ranks.  Those joining ranks are straightforward, but important to the feeling of group belonging for the scouts.  I challenge all units to complete those ranks with their newest scouts and record them by December 1st.  Share your unit’s camping experiences and advancement successes on social media to get the word out about our wonderful program.

‘Tis the season to re-charter!  Thank you to those who completed the new Youth Protection Training on time as it will make your unit’s re-charter process easier.  For those whose YPT has expired, please go to my.scouting.org and take it ASAP.  Nothing is more important than the safety of our youth.

‘Tis also the season to start shopping for the holidays.  If your family is like mine, some of that shopping gets done on Amazon.  See how the AmazonSmile article below for how you can give painlessly to Central Florida Council while you shop.

Yours in Scouting,

Amy Iennaco
Central Florida Council President
