From the Central Florida Council President

I’m excited and humbled to begin my new role as Council President.  I stand on the shoulders of the stoked Dr. Tom Yuschok and the many scouting volunteer giants that I have learned so much from over the years.

Many engaged hands make light work.  Fall is always crazy busy in the scouting world with recruitment of new scouts (including girls!) into our Family Scouting program, scouts learning to earn their own way by selling popcorn (including the new UCF tin!), Cub-o-rees, Camporees and heading to Camp LaNoChe for weekends of outdoor fun.  I appreciate the work that each and every one of you do to deliver our amazing program!

The deadline is coming! The deadline is coming!!  BSA has produced a new on-line Youth Protection Training and required that all registered adults must complete it before October 1, 2018.  Please help spread the word to your fellow unit leaders, unit committee members, district committee members and merit badge counselors.  Feedback on the new hour-long training has been very good.  For more information and a link to detailed information about how to complete the training on my.scouting.org, see this article:

Yours in Scouting,

Amy Iennaco
Central Florida Council President
