Friends of Scouting 2015-2016
Greetings Scouting Families and Friends,
Friends of Scouting (FOS) is an annual presentation that enables parents and units leaders, who are at the front lines of the scouting program, to give back financially to a program that has given so much to our scouts. Scouting in Central Florida is supported financially in three main areas:
- Product Sales– Popcorn and Camp Cards (Support from the community, and non-scouting families )
- Golden Eagle Dinners- Non-Profit Dinner Fundraising (Support from community leaders, and corporations)
- Friends of Scouting- Family and Leader Contributions (Support from families and leaders within the scouting program)
Every year thousands of dollars are raised in these three main areas, and none are more so important then the Friends of Scouting Campaign. FOS is a crucial part of the daily operations for Central Florida Scouting. Our unit’s involvement in FOS makes it possible for scouting to accomplish great things in the lives of young people in the seven counties we serve in central Florida: Lake, Flagler, Volusia, Brevard, Seminole, Osceola and Orange.
Incentives for participating are numerous for our unit:
- Unit service
- Free Basic Leader Training
- Youth scholarships
- Recruitment efforts
- Program development
- Program support
- Affordable Camping
- Support Center
- Camping Facilities
- Support for Scouting for Food
- …and much more.
In addition, for the 2015-2016 FOS Campaign, Summer Camp and Day Camp Incentives are being established to encourage each Scouting family to participate in the 2015 FOS Campaign. The incentives will be based on our unit hitting our 2015-2016 FOS Goal. If you believe that scouting has made a difference in the life of your child, I encourage you to assist our unit in hitting our goal. No financial gift needs to be made on this day, only a pledge of financial support for the upcoming year. If you will not be joining us this night, but still are willing to assist, please donate now.
Thank you for the support of scouting in our unit!
