2018 Sand Lake Scouter of the Year Awards
Sand Lake Unit and District Leaders,
Have you ever seen that Scouter who looks like a general in the Army with all those knots above their left pocket? Now is your opportunity to receive knots in recognition of your service and training. Attached is a nomination form for the District Award of Merit, the Districts highest award that you may use to nominate a worthy Scouter. Also attached is information on the most common training knots available to Scouters and a link to the award application forms for these training knots.
We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize Scouters in our district (Cubmaster, Den Leader, Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Unit Chairman or Unit Committee, Venture Leader, District Committee Member who you believe has done noteworthy service to our district or your unit by nominating these Scouters for the Sand Lake Scouter of the Year Awards.
Scouters of the Year Requirements:
• A nominee must be a registered adult leader
• A nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth in a Sand Lake Scout Unit or in Sand Lake District
Note: The nature and value of the “noteworthy service” should be actions by the Scouter that have contributed to the vitality of the lives of youth in our district and the scouting experience the youth receive.
• The nominee’s attitude and cooperation with a Sand Lake District Scout Unit or Units is to be taken into consideration
• Candidates for these awards must be nominated by someone other than the person receiving the award or their significant other. Self-nomination disqualifies the candidate from the award.

District Banquet date is 19 April 2018
