If you haven’t already done so, your unit’s Third Order is due THIS Friday, Nov. 4th:
·       To place the order, go online to http://scouting.trails-end.com
·       Enter your 2016 log-in information:   Username: First.Last
·         Click on the “Unit Orders” tab
·         Then Click on the “New Unit Order” button… this will take you to the Unit Ordering Screen
·         Using the drop down menus on the top of the screen select the “Fall 2016” campaign and then select the “Final Order” delivery.
·         A form will then populate with all of the available products for ordering
·         Enter your desired quantities then hit the “Save” button
·         Then hit the “Submit” button to submit your order

Scouting for Food

Please distribute bags in your assigned area this Saturday 11/5 as time permits. Scouts should be in Class A uniform and travel in pairs. An adult can stay with the car keeping the youth in sight. If you have questions about the geography of your area, please call Mark to reference the district map.

On Saturday morning 11/12 please collect filled bags but not before 9:00 a.m.
Bring the food to:

1) Neighborhood Center 434 S. Woodland Blvd. DeLand*
The Center is just north of Conrad Park/Stetson Baseball stadium and directly across from the bus station <map>
*The Veteran’s day parade will block Woodland Blvd north of Voorhis, which is one block north of the Neighborhood Center.  The entrance will be open, but must be approached from the south. Please enter through the front and proceed to the food warehouse to unload. Vehicles will continue straight through the property exiting the rear with no turn-arounds, please.

2) Pine Ridge Fellowship Church parking lot 1045 Normandy Drive Deltona
Please note that this is NOT the Pine Ridge Fellowship Church on Howland in East Deltona (the home of Pack and Troop 340) A Neighborhood Center Box truck will meet you.

Recharter Time!

The live link for internet recharter is now open. If you know that you will need more help, come to the Recharter Party! Thursday, 11/10 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Direct Data office 320 S. Woodland Blvd. in DeLand. Casual attire, bring your own refreshments.  What to bring: a paper list of all your members youth and adults, applications for any position changes or new members, youth protection certificates for any adult leader who will expire by 3/31/17. A signed check or other method of payment for the total recharter fees (see calculation sheet). Please also come with a date for your best-attended family meeting (Court of Honor, Pack Meeting, Blue & Gold or holiday party) to schedule the FOS presentation.  The earlier date, the better for earning the most $$ for your unit account (see new FOS incentive below). All other Recharters due by Roundtable 11/17 or by alternate arrangement.

WEBELOS Overnighter! November 18-19

The Boy Scouts of Troop 725 have planned an exciting weekend full of events:  fishing and learning the patrol method and all things Boy Scouts for WEBELOS only.  The location of the event is Gemini Springs, 37 Dirksen Drive, DeBary, FL 32713.  For planning purposes, we need confirmation of your Webelos attendance and your attendance by Nov. 13th..  Capacity is limited. Please call, text or email me so that we can have enough supplies:  386-675-9323 or Lydiapg6@yahoo.com.

Please bring:  $12/person for your meals and program supplies*, a CAN OF SOUP (their contribution to Friday night dinner), Camping Gear (tent, sleeping bag, Pack/uniform shirt, mess kit, water bottle/cup, hat, sunscreen, toiletries), fishing poles & tackle and Scout spirit.
*Your Webelos Leader/Assistant Unit Leader will collect money by or before November 17th to register your unit’s Webelos campers as a unit at the November Round Table.

Friends of Scouting

In every recharter packet is a Friends of Scouting commitment form.  Many troops have fall courts of honor.  Schedule an FOS presentation for it and get a jump on 2017. Donations paid in 2016 can be deducted from 2016 taxes.
Exciting New benefit for units: Every unit that reaches or exceeds its goal (a little higher than last year’s pledges), and has pledges paid at or above the goal amount by June 30, 2017, will receive 10% of the collected amount into their Unit Account! This is the first time ever (that I’m aware of) that a portion of the FOS dollars raised will stay will the unit. This is another reason to schedule your best and earliest meeting date. It will give everyone a chance to pay his or her pledges before 6/30. If you have a November COH and would like an FOS presentation, please contact Rosellen Rosellen.Kraus@cflscouting.org

Cubscout Day Camp

Calling all Scouters who love Cub Scout Day Camp!!!!!  Planning has begun for the 2017 Cub Summer Camp and we are calling all hands to join us  at our monthly planning meetings (see attachment for the schedule and meeting location).  We are looking for all who can contribute to the planning efforts, whether it be for administration, program ideas, logistics or marketing and outreach.  Come join us for the love of CAMP
and for the good of the boys!

Saturday and Sunday 11/19-20/2016

Tuscarora District has committed to a booth that can be used for recruitment and to showcase your unit!
Awning, table, banners and materials for a youth craft (with an ecology focus) will be provided. We have also been invited to set up a mock campsite to demonstrate the principals of Outdoor Ethics. Please reply if your unit would like to take a shift (sorry, only 7 available/first come, first served). This is a fun excuse to see the show and proudly represent Scouting!

Eagle Scout Project to build an aviary enclosure and building at Florida Wild Veterinary Hospital in DeLand. Dr. Erin Holder has also agreed to host a brand-new Veterinary Exploring Post for youth ages 14 – 21.
