Campfire Ban

All Central Florida Camps which includes the Leonard & Margaret Williams Family Scout Reservation (Camp La-No-Che; Camp Rybolt: Camp Pooh Bear; Adventure Camp & Scout Ranch); Camp Mitchell and Camp Roper are on Fire Restrictions/Ban. We are following the lead of the Ocala National Forest which has sent out a notice.

We are imposing the Fire Restriction/Ban to protect the Central Florida Council Boy Scouts Assets-Resources, membership and our community. Stove fires are allowed in commercially designed devices for cooking such as propane cook stoves and above-the-ground pedestal grills. Camping Lanterns are also allowed.

Fires placed directly on the ground, even for cooking purposes, are considered campfires and are prohibited. Also, candles, tiki torches, open flames and on the ground charcoal fires are prohibited. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation following this Fire Restriction/Ban until further notice.
