District Committee

The Little Econ District Committee generally meets on the fourth Thursday of the month. This meeting is usually held at the LDS Church at 5449 N Dean Rd, Orlando, at 7 pm.

The District Committee is responsible for coordinating the District level activities, such as Scouting for Food, District Pine Wood Derby and the many other activities that go on in the District and are open to all of the units in the District. This meeting is open to all Scouters in the District, so stop by and see what’s happening.

Your 2012-2014 District Committee Chairman is Greg Holcomb.

Greg guides and motivates the volunteer District Committee to ensure that quality programs are offered to all Scouts within Little Econ District; new leaders receive the training they need to be successful leaders, new scouting units are begun where needed, new youth are added to existing units, and that Little Econ District meets its finance goals during the year.

Jim is responsible for mentoring a staff of volunteer Unit Commissioners, Assistant District Commissioners and Roundtable Commissioners as they provide support for all unit leaders in Little Econ District through personal unit visitations and the supplemental training offered during the monthly Roundtable program.

The Council Training Chair guides the Training Chairs for all districts as they provide quality training. If the dates for the Little Econ trainings do not fit your schedule, you can attend training in any district and Nell can help you find an alternate date for the training you need.

The District Executive is our local scouting professional who works with the District’s volunteers to support the needs of the volunteers as we provide quality programs for our youth.
