Venturing Training

Training

Training is fun and easy, and you’ll be the best leader you can be when you understand Scouting. Be more effective in creating programs. Learn about resources to make your job easier. Lead by example – show your commitment to Scouting and inspire others.
What Makes a Trained Leader? A leader is considered “Trained” when he or she has completed the four main trainings that make up the “Basic Leader Training” continuum.

YOUth Protection Begins with YOU!

YOUth Protection Begins With YOU

The Boy Scouts of America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. To maintain such an environment, the BSA developed numerous procedural and leadership selection policies and provides parents and leaders with resources for the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing programs.

BSA Mandatory Reporting Policy

The BSA has a Mandatory Reporting policy which states that registered leaders must report any suspected child abuse and/or violation of the BSA Youth protection Policy. Read more

Contact your District Training Chair today

All District Training Chairs encourage each unit, or group of units, to contact them to arrange for eight or more leaders to receive training at a convenient time and place. Leaders are encouraged to have their District Training Teams bring training to the units.

Training Information Request Form

Your District Training Chair is working hard to recruit trainers and plan training events that allow unit leaders to get the training they need to do their job successfully. The Council Training Committee works hard to coordinate training schedules in each district that offer plenty of options in and outside the district, to train leaders. If you would like more information on training events being held in your area, or are having trouble getting your leaders trained, see your Training Chairs to get more information.
