5 Friends from Central Florida Council receive their Eagle Scout at one Ceremony

Achieving the rank of eagle is never easy, but it is always a lot better when you can achieve it along with 4 of your buddies. Troop 608 in Oviedo, FL had 5 gentlemen do that as they all shared the spot light for a single Court of Honor to recognize all of them.

Connor D. completed his Eagle Board of Review on January 9, 2018.  He crossed over from Cub Scouts to Troop 608 in 2011.  He held several leadership positions over the past years including Senior Patrol Leader and Bugler.  For his Eagle Scout Project, Conner restored about 35 tombstones at the Geneva Cemetery that were in need of much repair.  Most of the work of his team required lifting and leveling the tombstones and laying new foundations.  Since each one had a different base and was structured differently, the job became quite challenging.

Justin J. completed his Eagle Board of Review on November 9, 2017.  He crossed over from Cub Scouts to Troop 608 in 2011.  He held several leadership positions over the past years including Librarian, Troop Guide, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader.  For his Eagle Scout Project, Justin raised funds and coordinated the improvement of approximately 100 feet of the Red Bug Elementary bus area to keep vehicles from parking on the grass.  His team installed a post and chain fence and a border of plants along the edge of the pavement.

Carter S. completed his Eagle Board of Review on February 6, 2018.  He joined Troop 608 in 2013.  He held many leadership positions over the past 5 years including Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster and Instructor.  For his Eagle Scout Project, Carter raised funds and coordinated the restoration of an old bullpen at Oviedo Little League.  The project included reforming the mound to the proper shape, building a composite lumber support box to keep the mound from eroding away, replacing the mound rubber and home plate with higher quality rubber, and making all distances comply with league rules.

Elias T. completed his Eagle Board of Review on November 9, 2017.  He crossed over from Cub Scouts to Troop 608 in 2010.  He held many leadership positions over the past years including Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Librarian and Instructor.  For his Eagle Scout Project, Elias raised funds to create and deliver Hurricane Emergency Preparedness Kits to 2 local group foster homes in order to supply them with both material goods and peace of mind in the event of a hurricane.  He and his team were also able to accelerate the project in time to provide the kits before Hurricane Irma struck.

Seth T. completed his Eagle Board of Review on January 9, 2018.  He crossed over from Cub Scouts to Troop 608 in 2010.  He held many leadership positions over the past years including Junior Assistant Scoutmaster and Quartermaster.  For his Eagle Scout Project, Seth designed, built and installed a handicap-accessible bridge for the Native Plant Garden in the Orlando Wetlands Park. He organized a carwash to obtain the funds necessary, determined and bought the materials needed and organized his team to build and install the bridge.

As you can see, all five of these gentlemen came from the same pack and none of them would have it any other way. Congrats once again to these five young man and Troop 608 on this accomplishment.
