All Leaders Trained…

All Leaders Trained…

All Leaders Trained Would you get on an airliner with an untrained pilot?  Of course, you wouldn’t. Lives are at stake.  Then why do we leave our most precious possession, our children, with untrained Scout Leaders?  Isn’t their future at stake? After all, the adult leaders are helping to develop their character, turn them into good citizens, challenge them to become physically fit, and to learn leadership.  These skills do not come naturally. They have to be learned through training and experience. Just like an airline pilot. Why is it important to be trained?  If it’s important for airline pilots to be trained, then why not Scout Leaders? With that thought in mind, the CFC is establishing an initiative to encourage and train all Scouters to help us achieve a goal of being 100% trained. We know that achieving this result may be impossible due to the constant change in circumstances of our members. However, this should not serve as an excuse to not give the best effort we...

Family Scouting

Family Scouting

Our priority is to bring the benefits of Scouting to more youth while remaining true to our mission. The BSA’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We are excited to announce that our Cub Scouting program is now open to boys and girls. By welcoming both girls and boys into the program, even more youth will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises. Family Friends of Scouting The Central Florida Council would like to congratulate the units listed below that have reached their pledged 2018 Family Friends of Scouting unit goal.  Please remember in order for units to receive its 10% back incentive, the unit’s pledged goal needs to be paid by June 30, 2018.     The Central Florida Council serves over 20,000 youth members in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Brevard, Volusia, Lake and Flagler Counties.  Financial resources are needed to provide the facilities at our camp and our service center, support materials for our volunteers, programs and activities for our Scouts and Scouters, and professional leadership for our communities.   The annual Family Friends of Scouting Campaign focuses on raising a significant portion of this budget through families who participate in Scouting. Funds are raised by coordinated presentations made by volunteers to families of Scouts at a special unit event such as a Cub Scout Pack Blue & Gold Banquet or Boy Scout Troop Court of Honor.       Please click...
