One thousand people are expected to attend our 2018 Central Florida Council Recognition Banquet. This year’s honorees are; for the 440 members of the 2017 Eagle Class, Mr. Gene Lent and for the 2018 Silver Beaver Class Sheriff Jerry Demings . Our Annual Council Recognition Banquet brings together scouts, parents, scouters and top corporate and community leaders throughout Central Florida.  Each year we join to honor our Eagle Scouts for achieving the highest rank in Scouting. Tipisa Lodge will be attending the S4 Section conference April 13 – 15, at Camp Miles. The next lodge event will be Lodge service weekend May 18 – 20th; so be prepared for a weekend you won’t want to miss! Service Weekend is a time for Tipisa to provide meaningful service to Camp La-no-che as we enter the summer camp season. But just as Tipisa works hard, we play hard too! The Central Florida Council Advancement Committee would like to remind all that Merit Badge Counselors, NOVA Counselors, and SuperNova Mentors (including Cub Scout and Webelos level awards) need to be registered PRIOR to starting to work with the youth on Merit Badges or the STEM awards.  Registration is not difficult – It requires: Adult Application for the appropriate position code (42 – Merit Badge Counselor, 52 – SuperNova Mentor, 58 – Nova Counselor). Unit level signatures are NOT required as this is a District level position. Planning for our 2018 Day Camps are underway by our volunteer committee, and we are excited that you are considering sending your Scout to a week of camp with us this year! If you didn’t know this year Camp is open to all boys and girls entering the 1st -5th grade in August of 2018. Our Webelos Day Camps specifically cater to 4th and 5th graders and begin to prepare Scouts for Scouting programs after Cub Scouts.
