Camp La-No-Che hires over a hundred staff members every year to provide “unparalleled experiences” to the youth and adults of the Central Florida Council and Scouts and Scouters from around the country and even the world! Being a part of camp staff is a life changing experience that every Scout should consider for at least one summer. Working as a part of a team, character development, rank advancement, and friendships that last a lifetime is exactly what every single staff member that works at Camp La-No-Che experiences every summer.
There’s no questioning the dedication of the Camp La-No-Che staff. While they may fill different positions in different areas, our staff is a family – working to make Camp La-No-Che “world famous” and make every Scout and Scouter that steps foot on our camp a part of that family.
Summer Camp Staff
Being a part of the Summer Camp Staff is a paid summer job. All staff members hired into summer positions will receive a competitive salaried pay, room and board, and the opportunity to advance on our staff. Summer Camp Staff Members will have three “Staff Training Weekends” in April and May where the Staff report to camp to train as a part of our National Camp Accreditation Program (NCAP) accreditation. During April and May, there may be additional training in CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, Shooting Sports, and COPE training that staff members may be required to attend. After those training opportunities, we step into Summer Camp which spans between JROTC weeks, Boy Scout Resident Camp, and Cub Scout Resident Camp. The Summer Camp season is between June 1st and July 31st.
To apply for Summer Camp Positions, you must be at least 15 years old to be considered for a paid program counselor position. Scouts that are 14 years old can be considered for the volunteer Counselor in Training program.
For those interested in Area Director positions – you must apply on or before December 31st, 2017 whereas general program staff positions must be submitted on or before January 15, 2018.
Winter Camp Staff
Winter Camp Staff members are volunteers, however, they’ll be provided room and board and training opportunities. Winter Camp is a great time for Scouts and Scouters contemplating summer positions to see what being on Camp Staff is all about.
